Max H. Mitchell, President & Chief Executive Officer

Max Mitchell was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Crane Co. in January 2014. Mr. Mitchell has been with the Company since 2004, in previous roles as President of Crane’s Fluid Handling Group, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for all of Crane, and President and Chief Operating Officer.

Before joining Crane, Mr. Mitchell served in various operating roles for the Pentair Tool Group and divisions within the Danaher Corporation. Mr. Mitchell began his career with the Ford Motor Company in finance and operations.

Mr. Mitchell, a native of Pittsburgh, obtained his MBA in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh, Katz Graduate School of Business and his BA from Tulane University. He is on the Board of Directors of Lennox International, Inc., a member of the G100, on the Board of Trustees of Manufacturing Alliance for Productivity and Innovation, and previously served on the Board of the Valve Manufacturing Association of America.

Richard A. Maue, Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Crane Co., Stamford, CT

Rich Maue joined Crane Co. as Vice President, Controller & Chief Accounting Officer in August 2007. He served in that capacity until May 2010, when he became Co-Chief Financial Officer. In January 2013, Rich was promoted to Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer, assuming full responsibility for all finance functions at Crane. In January 2019, Rich was promoted to Senior Vice President, and in March 2019, he also assumed segment leadership responsibility for Crane Co.'s Aerospace and Electronics business.

Prior to joining Crane, Rich worked at Paxar Corporation as Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. Prior to Paxar, Rich worked at Protiviti, Inc. as a Director in their Internal Audit Practice. Rich started his career in the audit and business advisory practice at Arthur Anderson.

Alejandro Alcala, Senior Vice President

Alex Alcala joined Crane in 2013 as President of Crane Pumps & Systems. He served in that capacity until 2014, when he was promoted to President of Crane ChemPharma & Energy. In March 2020, Alex was promoted to Senior Vice President, Crane Co. Alex is responsible for overseeing Crane Co.’s Fluid Handling businesses as well as the Regional Presidents (China, India and the Middle East & Africa).

Prior to Crane, Alex had a successful career with Eaton Corporation holding various operations and strategic marketing positions.

Alex completed dual Bachelors of Science degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, graduating from Instituto Tecnologico Y De Estudios Superiores De Monterey in Monterey Mexico. He later completed an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

Kurt Gallo, Senior Vice President
Crane Co., Stamford, CT

Kurt Gallo joined Crane Co. in early 2008, as the General Manager of Crane’s payment solution businesses. Between 2008 and 2011 he drove the consolidation and harmonization of the three separate businesses into a unified business known as Crane Payment Solutions (CPS). In 2011 he oversaw the acquisition and integration of the Money Controls coin business into CPS and was named President in 2012. From 2008 to 2013 the business grew at an average annual growth rate of 7%, achieving $180M of revenue. In 2014 Crane acquired MEI and Kurt was asked to lead the newly created Crane Payment Innovation (CPI) business. Throughout the integration process, the CPI business continued to outperform expectations, over-delivering on synergies savings and driving strong year-over-year operating performance growth. In 2019, Kurt was promoted to Senior Vice President and he currently oversees Crane Co.’s Payment and Merchandising Technology Platform and the Engineered Materials business.

Prior to joining Crane, Kurt spent nine years with the Danaher Corporation where he held progressively larger President roles, running three different businesses across the Power Quality Group and Dental Platform. Prior to Danaher, he spent nine years with American Power Conversion (a division of Group Schneider) as the business leader for their retail unit and as the Midwest Regional Sales Manager.

Kurt has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago.

Christina Cristiano, Vice President, Controller & Chief Accounting Officer

Christina Cristiano joined Crane Co. as Vice President, Controller & Chief Accounting Officer in May 2019. In this role, Christina is responsible for overseeing Crane’s global accounting policies and operations; leading the Company’s enterprise risk management process; and ensuring the integrity of the Company’s internal and external reporting.

Prior to joining Crane, Christina was Vice President and Controller of Global Accounting and Statutory Reporting at Thomson Reuters. Christina started her career in the Assurance and Advisory Business Services practice at Ernst & Young.

Anthony M. D'Iorio, Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary
Crane Co., Stamford, CT

Anthony D’Iorio joined Crane Co. in 2005 as Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary, was promoted to Deputy General Counsel in 2013, and was appointed to his current position in February 2018. Prior to joining Crane Co., Mr. D’Iorio served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of ALSTOM Inc., the US subsidiary of French based ALSTOM SA, serving the energy and transportation markets (1998-2004), and practiced law in New York City at Hughes Hubbard & Reed, LLP (1995-1998), and Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon (1988-1995).

Jason D. Feldman, Vice President, Investor Relations

Jason Feldman joined Crane Co. as Director, Investor Relations in March 2014. Prior to joining Crane, Jason worked for 10 years as an associate and analyst in the equity research department at UBS, including six years as the lead Electrical Equipment and Multi-Industry analyst. He started his career as a consultant in the telecommunications practice at American Management Systems.

James A. Lavish, Vice President, People & Performance
Crane Co., Stamford, CT

Jim Lavish has served as the Company’s Vice President of CBS, People & Performance since February 2016. In this role, Jim is responsible for leading the Company’s Human Resources, CBS and Supply Chain functions globally.

Jim began his career with Crane Co. in 2006 as Vice President of Operations in the Engineered Materials business. He was then promoted in 2008 to the role of President for Crane’s Pumps & Systems in the Fluid Handling Group. In 2013 Jim was promoted to a global leadership role of the Crane Business System (“CBS”).

Prior to joining Crane, Jim held senior operations and general management roles with Quebecor World and The Plastics Group. He also held a series of roles of increasing operational responsibility with Newell Rubbermaid which, over seven years, culminated in him leading Newell Rubbermaid’s European operations based in The Netherlands. Earlier in his career, Jim held various Operations, Human Resources and Sales management roles.

Kumar C. Mathuria, Director, Financial Planning & Analysis
Crane Co., Stamford, CT

Kumar Mathuria, joined Crane Co. in June 2008 as Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), serving the needs of corporate senior management and driving various reporting requirements. Kumar was promoted to his current role in March 2012. Kumar plays a leading role in coordinating global planning and reporting processes at Crane, including those related to monthly reporting, the annual operating plan and periodic forecasting requirements. Kumar’s professional experience of almost 30 years in various functions of accounting, finance and FP&A includes, most recently, accounting and finance roles with Paxar Corporation while located in Dubai, UAE, as well as with Avery Dennison (Fortune 500) in Massachusetts.

Kris R. Salovaara, Vice President, Business Development & Strategy
Crane Co., Stamford, CT

Kris Salovaara joined Crane Co. as Vice President, Business Development in May 2011 and added responsibility for corporate strategy in January 2014. Kris works closely with the executive team and business units in all acquisition, divestiture and corporate strategy activities.

Kris has approximately 25 years of experience in the mergers & acquisitions, investment banking and business development arenas. Prior to joining Crane, Kris was a Managing Director at FBR Capital Markets & Co. where he was responsible for originating and executing a full array of investment banking services across a wide range of business segments, including industrial, educational services, media, transportation, financial services, and real estate.

Early in his career, Kris had increasing roles of responsibility in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs, from where he was recruited to Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. in the role of Managing Director for both the Media and Telecom Banking Groups in New York. Kris also held other senior positions at Helander Partners LLC, where he was a Managing Director, and Watch Hill Partners LLC, where he was a Founding Partner.

Bianca B. Shardelow, Chief Audit Executive

Bianca Shardelow joined Crane Co. as Chief Audit Executive in October 2019. In this role, Bianca leads the global Internal Audit organization in meeting the Internal Audit Charter as well as being a key leader in the Company’s enterprise-wide risk management process. Bianca has a direct line of communication with the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.

Prior to joining Crane, Bianca was the global Business Unit Controller for Refinitiv. She also held a series of roles of increasing responsibility within the Corporate Compliance and Chief Accounting Office of Thomson Reuters, spanning 12 years. Bianca started her career at Deloitte in South Africa.

Edward S. Switter, Vice President, Treasurer and Tax
Crane Co., Stamford, CT

Ed Switter joined Crane Co. as Director of Tax in May 2006. In April 2010, he was named Director, Global Tax, and in April 2011, he was appointed Vice President, Tax. In September 2016, Ed was appointed Vice President, Treasurer and Tax. In this role, Ed is responsible for the day-to-day activities of Crane’s treasury and tax functions.

Ed began his career at Deloitte, where he was most recently a senior manager in their corporate income tax group. While at Deloitte, Ed handled all aspects of corporate and partnership taxation, including accounting for income taxes, tax compliance, and tax planning. His clients included public and private companies in the consumer products, manufacturing, retail, service, technology, and telecommunications industries.

Carey A. True, Chief Information Officer
Crane Co., Stamford, CT

Carey True joined Crane Supply in March 2008 as Director of Information Technology. In this role, Carey was responsible for connecting IT efforts to the overall strategic direction of the business. He initiated strategic enhancements to E-Commerce, Customer Relationship Management, and strategic pricing applications. In April 2017, Carey joined the corporate team as Chief Information Officer assuming responsibility for global IT security, project management, compliance, and growth initiatives.

Prior to joining Crane, Carey held the position of Director of Information Technology of Grant Forest Products, where he was responsible for executive guidance and oversight in the planning and implementation of two ERP system upgrades as well as various productivity initiatives. In Carey’s earlier career, he has held senior positions in Information Technology, Operations, Sales, and Marketing.
