Max H. Mitchell, President & Chief Executive Officer

Max Mitchell was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Crane Co. in January 2014.  Mr. Mitchell has been with the Company since 2004, in previous roles as President of Crane’s Fluid Handling Group, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for all of Crane, and President and Chief Operating Officer.

Before joining Crane, Mr. Mitchell served in various operating roles for the Pentair Tool Group and divisions within the Danaher Corporation.  Mr. Mitchell began his career with the Ford Motor Company in finance and operations.   

Mr. Mitchell, a native of Pittsburgh, obtained his MBA in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh, Katz Graduate School of Business and his BA from Tulane University.  He is a member of the G100 and on the Board of Trustees of Manufacturers Alliance.  He previously served on the Board of Directors of Lennox International, Inc. from 2016-2022 and on the Board of the Valve Manufacturing Association of America.


Aaron W. Saak, Crane NXT President & Chief Executive Officer

Aaron Saak was appointed Crane NXT President and Chief Executive Officer in November 2022.   Mr. Saak has more than 20 years of experience leading technology-focused businesses for multinational organizations.

Before joining Crane, Mr. Saak served as President and CEO of Mobility Solutions and President of Gilbarco Veeder-Root (GVR), a subsidiary of the Vontier Corporation, with approximately $2 billion in revenue and sales in over 40 countries.  Prior to GVR, Mr. Saak held senior leadership roles with Tyco International, including as Vice President and General Manager for the SimplexGrinnell business.  Additionally, his career includes a ten-year tenure at General Electric.

Mr. Saak obtained a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University, master’s degree Industrial Engineering and Management Science from Northwestern University, and a bachelor’s degree in Ceramic Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.


Richard A. Maue, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer

Rich Maue joined Crane as Vice President, Controller & Chief Accounting Officer in August 2007. He served in that capacity until May 2010, when he became Co-Chief Financial Officer. In January 2013, Rich was promoted to Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer, assuming full responsibility for all finance functions at Crane. In January 2019, Rich was promoted to Senior Vice President, and in March 2019, he also assumed segment leadership responsibility for Crane's Aerospace and Electronics business. In February 2023, Rich was promoted to Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer.

Prior to joining Crane, Rich worked at Paxar Corporation as Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. Prior to Paxar, Rich worked at Protiviti, Inc. as a Director in their Internal Audit Practice. Rich started his career in the audit and business advisory practice at Arthur Andersen.

Alejandro Alcala, Executive Vice President

Alex Alcala joined Crane in 2013 as President of Crane Pumps & Systems. He served in that capacity until 2014, when he was promoted to President of Crane ChemPharma & Energy. In March 2020, Alex was promoted to Senior Vice President, Crane responsible for overseeing Crane’s Process Flow Technologies as well as Regional Presidents (China, India and the Middle East & Africa). In February 2023, Alex was promoted to Executive Vice President, Crane Holdings, Co. and, in addition, assumed segment leadership of the Aerospace & Electronics business. 

Prior to Crane, Alex had a successful career with Eaton Corporation holding various operations and strategic marketing positions.

Alex completed dual Bachelors of Science degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, graduating from Instituto Tecnologico Y De Estudios Superiores De Monterey in Monterey Mexico. He later completed an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.


Anthony M. D'Iorio, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary

Anthony D’Iorio joined Crane in 2005 as Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary, was promoted to Deputy General Counsel in 2013, and Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary in February 2018.  In February 2023, Anthony was promoted to Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary.

Prior to joining Crane, Mr. D’Iorio served as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of ALSTOM Inc., the US subsidiary of French based ALSTOM SA, serving the energy and transportation markets (1998-2004), and practiced law in New York City at Hughes Hubbard & Reed, LLP (1995-1998), and Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon (1988-1995).

Kurt Gallo, Senior Vice President

Kurt Gallo joined Crane in early 2008, as the General Manager of Crane’s payment solution businesses. Between 2008 and 2011 he drove the consolidation and harmonization of the three separate businesses into a unified business known as Crane Payment Solutions (CPS). In 2011 he oversaw the acquisition and integration of the Money Controls coin business into CPS and was named President in 2012. From 2008 to 2013 the business grew at an average annual growth rate of 7%, achieving $180M of revenue. In 2014 Crane acquired MEI and Kurt was asked to lead the newly created Crane Payment Innovation (CPI) business. Throughout the integration process, the CPI business continued to outperform expectations, over-delivering on synergies savings and driving strong year-over-year operating performance growth. In 2019, Kurt was promoted to Senior Vice President and he currently oversees Crane’s Payment and Merchandising Technology Platform and the Engineered Materials business.

Prior to joining Crane, Kurt spent nine years with the Danaher Corporation where he held progressively larger President roles, running three different businesses across the Power Quality Group and Dental Platform. Prior to Danaher, he spent nine years with American Power Conversion (a division of Group Schneider) as the business leader for their retail unit and as the Midwest Regional Sales Manager.

Kurt has a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago.


Scott Grisham, Senior Vice President, Business Development & Strategy

Scott Grisham joined Crane as Senior Vice President, Business Development & Strategy in April 2021.

Prior to joining Crane, Scott worked at Colfax Corporation as the Vice President Business Development & Strategy, at ABB as the Vice President Strategy and at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), ultimately as a Principal. Scott started his career at Halliburton & KBR in various engineering and project management roles.

Scott has an MBA from the Columbia Business School and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.


Tami Polmanteer, Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer

Tami Polmanteer joined Crane as Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer in March 2021. In February 2023, Tami was promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer.

Prior to joining Crane, Tami worked at Aleris Corporation as the Chief Human Resources Officer, and at Daymon Worldwide as the Chief Human Resources Officer. Tami also spent a large part of her early career at the Kellogg Company, ultimately as the Vice President of Human Resources, International and Corporate Functions. Before her time with Kellogg, she worked at ABEX NWL Aerospace.

Christina Cristiano, Vice President, Controller & Chief Accounting Officer

Christina Cristiano joined Crane as Vice President, Controller & Chief Accounting Officer in May 2019. In this role, Christina is responsible for overseeing Crane’s global accounting policies and operations; leading the Company’s enterprise risk management process; and ensuring the integrity of the Company’s internal and external reporting.

Prior to joining Crane, Christina was Vice President and Controller of Global Accounting and Statutory Reporting at Thomson Reuters. Christina started her career in the Assurance and Advisory Business Services practice at Ernst & Young.

Jason D. Feldman, Vice President, Investor Relations

Jason Feldman joined Crane as Director, Investor Relations in March 2014, and was promoted to Vice President, Investor Relations in 2019. Prior to joining Crane, Jason worked for 10 years as an associate and analyst in the equity research department at UBS, including six years as the lead Electrical Equipment and Multi-Industry analyst. He started his career as a consultant in the telecommunications practice at American Management Systems.

David Jones, Vice President, Crane Business System

David Jones was appointed Vice President of the Crane Business System in 2019. In this role, David is responsible for CBS and Strategic Supply Chain functions globally.

David has been with Crane since 2006 holding key roles within ChemPharma & Energy across operations and general management. He was appointed Senior Vice President, General Manager in 2012 responsible for multiple businesses, and Senior Vice President of European & India Operations in 2015 serving in that capacity until he was promoted to his current role.

Prior to joining Crane, David had a successful career holding various operations and general management positions with Pirelli, Brand-Rex and Communisis.

David completed his Bachelors of Science degree in Physics, Microelectronics, and Computing from the University of Leicester, UK. He later completed his MBA from the University of Wales Institute Cardiff, UK.


Kumar C. Mathuria, Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis

Kumar Mathuria, joined Crane in June 2008 as Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), serving the needs of corporate senior management and driving various reporting requirements. Kumar was promoted to Director, FP&A role in March 2012 and after a few years in that role promoted to Vice President, FP&A in December 2020.

Kumar plays a leading role in coordinating global planning and reporting processes at Crane, including those related to monthly reporting, the annual operating plan and periodic forecasting requirements. Kumar’s professional experience of almost 30 years in various functions of accounting, finance and FP&A includes, most recently, accounting and finance roles with Paxar Corporation while located in Dubai, UAE, as well as with Avery Dennison (Fortune 500) in Massachusetts.

Melissa Olmstead, Vice President, Total Rewards

Melissa Olmstead joined Crane as Vice President, Total Rewards in July 2021. Prior to joining Crane, Melissa was Vice President Human Resources for Novelis, Inc. where she provided leadership support and project management for the human resources integration activities related to Novelis' acquisition of Aleris International, Inc. Prior to the acquisition, Melissa served as the Vice President Compensation, Benefits and HRIS and corporate HR business partner for Aleris.

During her 16-year career with Aleris, she held various human resources leadership roles including Vice President Human Resources for the Global Recycling business. Prior to joining Aleris, Melissa led compensation and HRIS for Noveon, a specialty chemicals manufacturer. She has also held various human resources roles in the banking and insurance industries throughout her career.

Kris R. Salovaara, Vice President, Business Development & Strategy

Kris Salovaara joined Crane as Vice President, Business Development in May 2011 and added responsibility for corporate strategy in January 2014. Kris works closely with the executive team and business units in all acquisition, divestiture and corporate strategy activities.

Kris has approximately 25 years of experience in the mergers & acquisitions, investment banking and business development arenas. Prior to joining Crane, Kris was a Managing Director at FBR Capital Markets & Co. where he was responsible for originating and executing a full array of investment banking services across a wide range of business segments, including industrial, educational services, media, transportation, financial services, and real estate.

Early in his career, Kris had increasing roles of responsibility in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman, Sachs, from where he was recruited to Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. in the role of Managing Director for both the Media and Telecom Banking Groups in New York. Kris also held other senior positions at Helander Partners LLC, where he was a Managing Director, and Watch Hill Partners LLC, where he was a Founding Partner.

Bianca B. Shardelow, Chief Audit Executive

Bianca Shardelow joined Crane as Chief Audit Executive in October 2019. In this role, Bianca leads the global Internal Audit organization in meeting the Internal Audit Charter as well as being a key leader in the Company’s enterprise-wide risk management process. Bianca has a direct line of communication with the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.

Prior to joining Crane, Bianca was the global Business Unit Controller for Refinitiv. She also held a series of roles of increasing responsibility within the Corporate Compliance and Chief Accounting Office of Thomson Reuters, spanning 12 years. Bianca started her career at Deloitte in South Africa.

Edward S. Switter, Vice President, Treasurer and Tax

Ed Switter joined Crane as Director of Tax in May 2006. In April 2010, he was named Director, Global Tax, and in April 2011, he was appointed Vice President, Tax. In September 2016, Ed was appointed Vice President, Treasurer and Tax. In this role, Ed is responsible for the day-to-day activities of Crane’s treasury and tax functions.

Ed began his career at Deloitte, where he was most recently a senior manager in their corporate income tax group. While at Deloitte, Ed handled all aspects of corporate and partnership taxation, including accounting for income taxes, tax compliance, and tax planning. His clients included public and private companies in the consumer products, manufacturing, retail, service, technology, and telecommunications industries.

Ann K. Vinci, Chief Information Officer

Ann Vinci rejoined Crane in July 2021 as Chief Information Officer with responsibility for global IT program management, compliance and growth initiatives in support of Crane’s various business strategies. She also spent time with Crane in the Chief Audit Executive role from August 2012 to April 2017 where she drove notable improvements to the function, assessed Crane’s IT environment, and was a member of Crane’s Global IT Security and ERP Committees.

Ann has nearly 20 years of experience in technology related roles. In addition to her time with Crane, she was Director of IT Infrastructure and Security at a media company, as well as Chief Audit Executive at a tech company. She spent the first half of her career in the Technology Risk Advisory practice at Deloitte.

Tricia Wise, Vice President, Talent Development

Tricia Wise joined Crane as Vice President, Talent Development in June 2021. Prior to joining Crane, Tricia led the global Training, Talent Management and Diversity & Inclusion functions at Citi, AXA XL and Daymon Worldwide. In this capacity, she oversaw the strategic direction of the company culture and values and core talent management processes, including performance management, succession planning, engagement surveys and onboarding. Tricia’s background also includes oversight for a global corporate university, with extensive experience in facilitation, curriculum design and employee development.
